You would see and find droppings if there was a rodent problem. Plus, if that is actually Boric acid, and with that much of it, I doubt you have a problem at the moment anyway.
Not sure why you would still be seeing white dust if you have now vacuumed the top of all cupboards and the insides of cupboards and all drawers and cabinets. If you can, pull out the appliances and see what is behind them.
And you have never answered my question from that pic above the cabinets. Is that a hole in the wall on the lower left of the picture you posted? It looks like the dust is blowing away from that hole? If that is a hole that needs to be sealed up. Perhaps more of the white dust (whatever it is) is still blowing in from that hole?
And, have you wiped down all of the cupboard/cabinet doors really well? There may still be white dust residue on them.
Corn-fused- No hole top of the cabinet- think it just appeared so in the photo. Yes- have wiped down everything several times, vacuumed all the hinges, etc- seems to be less powder, but still a little bit. We are just using a few cabinets- as they are so gross. Dlking- still living here- because moving is expensive as is getting out of a lease. Thanks!
Not sure why there would be drywall sanding on top of a cabinet?
Why??? It's already been suggested. The blue painter's tape is a huge clue why.
Like I said earlier, it looks like dust that would easily be on top of the cabinets if they replaced the ceiling and then sanded and painted. Even just spackling and sanding the wall above the cabinets would leave dust like that.
Borax? I doubt it. Not with the blue tape also left behind.
I wouldn't have cleaned it up. It's a health hazard. I would've left it as is, with lots of pictures, nicely demanded the landlord clean it up stating your deteriorating health, and if they keep on being neglectful I would threaten to report them to the board of health and whatever other agency that can hold them accountable. After that they might want to let you out of lease or you might have grounds to be let out of lease due to unlivable conditions....
