Tenant left and there is some damage in the house
Tenant did not pay last month rent mentioning one month deposit and left the house before the eviction court date. What happens next? Do the landlord still need to go to court at the court date?
Also what options landlord has to get the repair be charged to tenant, landlord does not know where the tenant went. This is in NC.
Your post is a mangled mess but from what I understand your tenant didn't pay rent and you were in the process of an eviction? In your eviction filing did you include damages like missing rent? If you did you still go to court. You likely wont see a dime from your tenant but go to court for it anyway and get a judgement against them, will make it harder for them to rent in the future.
What damage did you have? I would list them to be sure they are damage by NC law and not wear and tear etc. And as AZmgr asked, did you start eviction proceedings?
I'm not a lawyer, but you should be able to amend your claim before the hearing and include specific damages in addition to unpaid rent.
