Living with a family member has issues

We don't know the whole story, and my understanding is that the OP is going to TX to see her mother, who is dying.

Thus, she is stressed right now.

I notice that she hasn't been back. I hope that she has been able to connect with a family member or friend who can help her.

Strangers on the internet are not the best resource for this situation.

WOW & Where did you get that Dying Mom at? ALL her post says she was Going to TX To spend Christmas with her DD & Grand D. Nothing about Dying Mom. & Wouldn't her Brother also be going to see Mom?

Legally, you have established residence, and can't be put out on the street.

But realistically, your brother sounds like he isn't the type to play by the rules, so I wouldn't count on it. So yes, your stuff could be out in the lawn, or the locks could be changed, or he could have a garage sale. None of those things are legal, but they all could happen.

You never answered the question of whether this was a rental or an owned house, though, and without knowing that, any further speculation is pretty much irrelevant.

MOM Dying was like an After thought. TX Trip was to see DD & DgD. Don't see how Mom Dying has anything to do with her living rent free with her brother for 5 years.
