Just curious to know what the average rent amount, percentage wise, for lease renewal is? I heard it can fluctuat quite a bit. However, is there an average? Not sure if it matters, but I live in AZ. Thanks.

It would have to be the average for the town you live in. What % I use in Central Oregon isn't going to have anything to do with rents in Arizona.

You want me to guess, though? I would guess it is somewhere between 0% and 80%, depending upon which landlord you are renting from and how far below market rate your unit is.

Hmmm. OK. Well that makes sense. My lease isn't up for a while yet, but just was curious. I know that before I rented this house, it sat empty for nearly a year, and this is why they agreed upon a three year lease. I expect the rent to increase when our lease is up, but I am hoping they don't jack it up too high, and then keep in mind that this place may once again stay vacant for another year if they decide to up it too much and we move.

Phoenix rents rise 5.6 percent in year, top U.S. average

Found on AZCentral.com.

The Arizona housing boom is starting all over again.

Now if you live in Payson, Ajo, Eager, Springerville, Prescott, Kingman, Bullhead City or anywhere else it all varies with local supply and demand.

Much depends on the management company also. Give them a call and ask.
