Ever since I moved into my apartment nine months ago, my upstairs neighbor has been making all sorts of noise all day and night. Hammering, banging around, and even pushing large piece of furniture across the floor. This goes on continuously for hours. During the day and night. It is so much more than just normal living noises.
At first I thought there was remodeling going on, but when I talked to my landlord several months ago, it turns out the upstairs neighbor is an artist, and he makes all the noise because he works from home to create his art. On top of that, he and my landlord are dating, and he is staying there free of rent.
I've talked to both my landlord and the neighbor multiple times. Each time they both say it'll stop immediately, and it does get better for several weeks, then starts up again with constant noise. I've asked him to get an art studio in a separate location to create his art, but he always has an excuse as to why he doesn't.
Any suggestions? My sleep is affected and I haven't been able to get any rest. I wouldn't be able to call the police to file a noise complaint because it's only right above me, it doesn't carry 50ft away.
What Kind of Artwork does he do? A Painter would be rather quiet. But he sounds like a wood worker! Needs a Garage Not an apt! Lucky for you hes Not a Welder!
Maybe your neighbor watched the movie Pacific Heights?
