No harm in asking. The worst thing that can is happen is they say no.
My parents used to own a house in a development that had an arrangement with a large apartment complex nearby and the homeowners were allowed to access the amenities in the apartment complex even though it was a gated community and not open to the general public.
If my insurance found out I was selling access to the public they would drop me in a heartbeat. Pools are already expensive enough to insure without having non-resident guests. There is language in my lease about pool use, rules, injuries, etc. that protect me so without you signing a lease it would be a gigantic no.
