Yes, you are.

I haven't been a renter in many decades, and I have never been a landlord, but thought it might be fun to rent a place in another area or another state for awhile (still keeping this house in California) to get a feel for living somewhere else, but the stories I read about renters and also landlords give me pause.

I am an accidental landlord, and I can assure you, its no fun.... at least its just not for me LOL

The government keeps making it more and more difficult to get bad renters out. You really should not take a tenant with a history of digging in and making his landlord take him to court to get him out.


So no, you are not being unfair. An eviction is something that the tenant deliberately brought down on his own head. It's not like it is a birth defect that he has no control over.
