I am moving to Mount Airy in a couple weeks and starting a new job. I have been looking for rental property in the area but I am coming up short. Was hoping to rent a house for a year while we search for our own home. Anyone know of any realtors or individuals rent a house in Mt Airy?

Call some property management companies who handle residential rentals

There are rental shortages in many parts of the country. Housing providers are leaving their units unoccupied rather than dealing with the eviction moratorium. Plus, a lot of people are leaving the big cities and trying to move into more rural areas because they are being allowed to work from home and no longer have to go into the office located in the big city. That is causing housing shortages in the smaller towns.

Contact all of the property management companies and let them know you are looking. It's possible that they are no longer advertising vacancies in order to limit the number of applicants who are not qualified but still applying for every vacancy.

Use all of the places that list rentals: Craigslist, Zillow, Facebook, Apartments dot com

If you are religious, contact your church. If you are a veteran, contact the veterans organizations and even the local National Guard. If you have a hobby, contact the local group that does that hobby. Let everybody know you are looking.

You might have to do a lot of networking to find a vacancy.
