Look at the bright side. They will have to deal with a baby ctying at all hours of the day and night soon.
Yup!! And just like the OP, there’s nothing they can do about it.
Op: you having a baby is no concern of your neighbor.. that’s all on you. You cannot expect anyone to tiptoe around their house because you have a high risk pregnancy and will have a newborn.
Your landlord knows about the noise and can’t do anything about the noise because no law, ordinance or lease ‘rule’ is being broken. When that happens, they will do something about it. You can try and call the police on the current noise, but be prepared to be told there’s nothing they can do.
I can relate to what you’re going through with the noise, had the same issue with upstair neighbors, we ended up moving because the issue wasn’t solely the neighbor, but also the building.

Yep. The tables will be turned soon enough, but maybe the OP will luck out. Upstairs neighbors already have kids so may not start complaining about baby noise.
You would need to call the police and make a report. But most laws dont have a limit on noise until after 11 pm.
So yes not much police can do until after that time.
If you can not prove they are breaking the law or any rules in their lease. There is really nothing the landlord can do. To evict they have to have absolute proof. No Judge will evict them without that.
That was nice of the LL to allow you to move to a quieter unit.
Some landlords will allow you to pay a early lease termination fee. Usually it is equal to 1 or 2 months rent. You can at least ask landlord if they do that. And move to some other place. But could have same problem unless you are upstairs
Noise isn't going to harm your child. Not at the human "stomping" noise level. If you whine loudly enough and often enough, maybe your landlord will release you from the lease and send you back to live on the streets.
I'll bet you aren't paying much rent. Sometimes when you get lots of free stuff it isn't as nice as what you are entitled to have and you just might have to make do with what you can get.
Blasting your television isn't helping your relationship with your neighbors.
This. I can get one's frustration, but the solution doesn't seem to be to make things hell for others.
Have similar neighbors. Can hear every thud, thump, rumble from playing electronic games where you pretend you are there in front of the screen. If they have a party or even get together you can hear all the noise from them walking to and from the kitchen and bathroom. They open their doors even more noise carries and the building smells like a bar.
New speaker tech can carry noise through walls and floors. Old floors carry noise the most because they get the least maintenance but most wear. Older buildings might only have old plywood for sub floor.
Best bet is let the landlord know. They're going to try avoid stepping in between you and others until it becomes an issue. I'd keep a log of their noise including date, day and time. Try to record it although cell phones have trouble picking a lot of the lower bass and thump type noises. Also no matter where I lived I've noticed certain combination of people make more noise. I can tell by the cars parked in lot or nearby when they're going to have a party. Start taking license plate numbers and/or even pay for a back ground check service see what you can find but probably not more than the landlord. But unless the landlord is surprised by new information it might not lead to much.
Good Luck and hopefully good ridance to your neighbors one day.

Or may put two and two together if they start running around and then baby starts shrieking... maybe it'll get them to quiet down.
Sorry that you have to deal with this OP. Don't talk to them anymore, they are obviously psychotic. Maybe talk with your OBGYN about the stress affecting your pregnancy. Maybe with a Dr. note on file, it will force the LL to help accomodate you.
Just a note but there are special recording apps for smart phones. The range of nuisance noises is different so the app must detect lower levels of noise. But research them first because some make you pay the share or even play back the recording. All you get to see are the decibel numbers or hz. Some municipalities put an actual number on noise.
But again research those apps, especially the free ones.
Some say if you hold the phone or microphone near the wall or ceiling it will help pick up those nuisance noise on a voice recorder or app.
For now keep a log or diary of the bad noise times.
