I would like to rent out a house I own, to section-8 a tenant. Once the tenant is living in the house, can I sell the house to another owner who will maintain the current tenant and the section-8 status?

Thanks

Talk to your local HUD office they can answer any questions.....
Oh there is a program that after a person is on Section 8 for a year HUD will help them buy a home. You might want to look into that too.

It all depends on the buyer if they want to keep the tenant.I lived in an apartment and the house was sold and part of the purchase and sales was that the house would be empty. So they gave my deposit plus first months rent for the next place and i moved before the closing.

Of course... the lease obligation is assumed by the new owner and the new owner can terminate or continue based on the lease and housing assistance payment agreement...

Well since Section 8 people DONT get any assitance till they have moved in..Meaning THEY have to come up with the FULL 1st months rent & deposit on thier own...Why would you even want to rent to them... Sure you Might give them back the deposit but thats After they move to a new place. Why not just rent to someone who could better afford to move if you do sell.

I'm on section 8 . Lived in this place for over 2 yrs. Now I was just informed the owner of the house wants to sell. What happens. Will I get kicked out or do I have until my lease is up.

You should have until the current lease is up. Contact your housing office and let them know of the potential sale so they can ensure your rights are protected.
