However, her customers bang on her windows and yell for her at odd hours, they ring everyone's doorbell to get someone to come to the front door and let them in (sometimes at three in the morning), the front and back door have been kicked in a few times, the back door latch is usually taped up so that it does not catch and lock, etc. The cops don't do much and the land lord has flat out said that he doesn't care because she pays her rent on time. There is another tenant in another building that my land lord owns who is/was convinced that the person living below her was abusing her children. She complained to the land lord, who once again told her that what she did was her business and he didn't care because she paid her rent.
I guess when it comes to business there isn't much a landlord could do when someone is paying their rent on time. However, for those who know of the problem (case of child abuse) call the child abuse hotline. You could be saving a child's life. In case of the drug situation...police could be watching undercover and a sting operation in place. They don't always move when we want them too. A landlord can only do so much., and think about it too, what if it's not true...who would want to be harassed and forced to move based on hearsay???
