As the subject said... I have a poisonous snake problem in my rental (Copperheads). Landlord has offered some options (not in writing) that won't work for poisonous snakes. He won't let me break the lease.
Any advice?
Not OK in O.K.

Where exactly are the snakes and who/how did you find them? Can you see or hear them?
Get him to put his acknowledgement in writing....email him, send him a certified letter

Call the health department. The health department could fine your land lord big time.

that is the worst thing I have ever heard! I would definitely get the photo evidence and that should be substantial cause. a lawyer is definitely in order.

You definitely want to build a papertrail. What did he tell you in regard to the lease?

Again (since you have posted this in several places) You mentioned (in the OK forum) that the rental property is 20 minutes outside of town, in Rural SW Oklahoma. You also said that it was one snake and possibly one more that you weren't sure about.
I still don't understand why you were surprised to find a snake (of any kind) in that area. They are quite common after all.
Also, you mentioned (in the NC forum) that the snake fell INTO the tank behind you as you sat on the commode...where was the lid to the tank?

I think you just call animal control. Copperheads like to nest so he has to inspect the property for any nest sites. Dont go poking around yourself.
I wanted to post you a nice "snakes on a plane" picture...But eh city data isnt working
