Your right, of course. One tenant cannot force another to stay... however, unless management agrees otherwise... all three roommates are on the hook untill the unit is vacant and security deposit/damages are addressed.

Be very careful when you sign any agreement with someone... renting, buying a home or car, credit card etc. That decision can follow you for years.

Management is treading on very dangerous ground by taking sides between adults on the same rental agreement as they are all equals per the contract.

And at last someone else realizes that all three are responsible. It's crappy, but that's how it is.
