Next door the guy has a girlfriend over and every time she is over they are loud.
No sex crap but just loud with loud shout talking (sounding smashed) throwing things against the wall into the closet and the last time a tV was blasted loud enough that it came clearly thru the wall.

When I pound..they stop
BUT

This has happened at 11:30pm (not really a big deal)
And the two previous times between 2-3 am.
I already spoke face to face with him.
Wrote him a note telling him what comes through the wall.

The thing is the dude is very nice and NEVER a problem. Its always the girl's voice I hear loudly. He was a little loud the first time it happened but not since the note.
He also has her over there for more than the 3 day limit as allowed by lease. Which I wouldnt even know if she would be freakin normal and not screeching/Laughing etc.
I would equate it to party like noise.

If it happens again should I give one more verbal face to face and say I am trying to be nice but you are forcing me to talk to the LL about this? Or just tell the LL?
He is very normal/quiet and non-nutball and apologized for being loud. Its his gd girl that cant shut up.

Tell him one more time. Be as open and frank as you have been here. I would also let him know you are not telling him again, but will go to the LL next time. Sounds like he needs to get rid of her if he wants to live there.

You could also call the cops and report it.

You didn't say how old or educated he is, but he sounds like me 30 years ago. Maybe he doesn't quite get the idea that he's responsible for his guests. I'd try once more on neutral ground, not at night, and not in his apartment. He'll feel sober and less "at home". Let him know that this meeting is the last you will deal directly with him. Next occurance will not be tolerated and he'll be apartment hunting because of his guest. Time for him to grow up.
