Yes, start looking for somewhere to live. And, hopefully you have the funds available to move your household on short notice.
Lots of questions come up if this is happening to you. Im thinking a lot of people don't have the money for moving on such short notice. I know that there are people who will say, 'well your renting that's your risk'....those people aren't thinking about all the circumstances out there. Since over half the people in this country make under $35,000/yr these folks might just get caught in this mess. And when asked the landlord usually replys that its a mistake or he is handling it. Often these tenants are evicted with no where to go. Its in the statistics gathered in the posts above.

I guess it matters more to me because ironically when my husband was alive we owned and operated a shelter for kids. We had a big beautiful house that we ran as a non profit. So, we delt with lots of people in crisis. When he died I lost that house to foreclosure, because I couldn't operate it alone, and I couldn't make the payments without him. So, I move my 3 boys and myself to a 2 bedroom townhouse with rent I can barely afford, but I paid it on time every month.
And we try to get back on our feet.

And then all this....come to find out the mortgage hasn't been paid in nearly 2 yrs and eviction is looming. He was in foreclosure when he rented it to me. And the straw that breaks the camels back? The landlord is evicting us now before the bank can. It seems so strange, but I guess he wants to get in to both units and take the appliances and anything else that's not nailed down. I think he's crazy because just yesterday I got an eviction notice and a rent increase on the same crazy note. He actually duct taped it to my car. I'm not going to pay him anything, can't imagine why i would.

So, if I seem to care a little too much.....I have a pretty good reason.
