I'm sure your landlord was happy to hear about what "his responsibilities" were as far as fetching the rent you should have paid.

Hey, at least it's paid and done. I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm really not, but I tell the tenants that have problems paying the rent, pay it a week or two early. That way, you never have to worry about it.

I sincerely hope your fiancee is doing better......

I find it odd that someone in such dire straights who cannot leave his fiances side in the hospital has so much time to write on a blog about how bad other people are. If the op has enough time to write here and vent how bad people are, then he has time to go pay the rent. Previous bounced checks and sad stories are not grounds for NOT paying the rent.

Landlords have heard it all and believe little of it. You gave him a bad check, then didn't show up with the money as you promised. And he has the audacity to ask for payment asap. Grow up.

I am sorry about your fiancee and hope she's doing better.

Guess its back to the bad landlords again.

I am so tired of this. Just do like we all try to do ; pay your bills on time, make sure there is enough money in the account to cover the rent.

Since you have a laptop and internet connection ....pay your bill by using bill pay online and you don't even have to walk to mail it!!!!

No excuses, no late fees, no stamps and you even can pay early....and no issues waiting in your car for the "lousy LL"....so I wonder what your next excuse is....I guess the same as my last tenant...just overnight vanish on New Year's eve......, you don't have time to work and have no income due to blogging next to your fiancee in the hospital...can you pay the hospital bills? Or do you need a bailout...

Your only accomplishment here is that you made it worse for other tenants and LL will add this to all the other b.s. sob stories.

Umm, that doesn't sound like the most intelligent thing to have done. He can march on in, collect the cash and then claim he didn't receive anything from you.

The complex that I now manage for my ex-landlord, I didn't meet for the first two years. We did the lease by fax. I paid on time every month. I happened to catch her one day in the laundry facilities. We laughed that we had been "doing business" for years and hadn't met face to face.

She did, however, meet the other four tenants because they had once in awhile late rent.

That's what I tell the tenants.....if you don't want the landlord around the property bugging you, all you have to do is pay your rent on time every time with available funds in the bank at said time. Voila! Simple.
