I have a fairly uncommon name. There is someone with the same name who was born in the same state I was (different town) who wrote a bunch of bad checks, etc. in that state in that different town.

I hadn't lived in that state since I was six months old!

I couldn't even open a freakin' bank account because of this person! And that was 20+ years ago!!! It was such a PITA! I tried to open an account in one bank and they kept asking "Are you sure you never lived in Blah Blah Blah?" "Never lived there." "Are you SURE?!!"

Sheesh! It was CRAZY!
Did you resolve this?

The bank finally let me open an account. I guess they were satisfied that I wasn't the same person and at least I became aware that this person was out there in case it ever happened to me again.

I am currently ( as of this past weekend ) in a bad situation with a neighbor with a criminal record.

The tenant in the next building has allowed his grown son to move in with him. The father has a record. He apparently served time in prison for killing someone while under the influence of something. When he allowed his son move in, at first I thought no big deal, but I started noticing the kid acting weird, and never seemed to work. Then little by little I started noticing him walking around the other buildings. My neighbor, who comes home after midnight from work said that she saw him and about 4 friends sitting out on the back porch, and they were obviously smoking pot.

This weekend I find out that the son has been breaking into people's apartments and houses to rob them. The kid's statment to the police was " I can't find a job other than McDonald's and people have to make a living somehow. I watch people leaving their homes and then check to see if they lock their door. If they don't, I would walk in and help myself".

I don't know if he is still in jail, but on Saturday evening his father was blasting death metal music so loud that we could hear it in the next building. I am on decent terms with him, (say hello how are you etc) so I went over there to ring his doorbell to ask him to turn it down. The front door was open, and from behind the screen door, I was bowled over by the smell of pot and something else, but don't know what it is. The father was sitting on the couch with his eyes closed flipping out, and never saw me standing there, so I left.

Now I have a druggie living next door to me with a record of killing someone while under the influence of some drug or alcohol along with his son, who breaks into people's homes.

The father obviously pays his rent, because that seems to be my landlord's major concer. But if she bothered to do background checks, she would have seen this coming. Three of my neighbors and I do not feel comfortable with this man (or his son) living there, but I don't know what we can do about it.

what if you had felony charges, but they were dismissed due to a program you completed, so youi were never convicted.

Leave when the lease expires.

Why should I move out ? I have a nice home, and it's convenient for me to live there. Nope, sorry. The druggie and burglar need to go. I'm sure the neighbors will eventually privately say something to the landlord.

Are you joking? You have a serious criminal living next door with serious issues. No matter how nice the place is. There is always a better place or equal to what you have now around the neighborhood.

How long before you think they will leave? If that was me, I would take serious action.
