I was just wondering if I were to live in a hotel thats a extended stay would I be able to list them as a reference. I am hoping to leave the hotel eventually so I can get a house on campus. Will the hotel be useful to a landlord/apartment complex or would I have to use where I lived BEFORE I moved to the hotel?

My daughter and I lived in one for a year and when we went to rent an apartment, they did count it. They even called them to check and see if we paid our weekly rent on time and if there were any complaints against us and if they would rent to us again.

Why not ...if you can get it to be verified, it would count to me as a LL. As long as it shows you paid on time and was respectful towards other peoples property that is something to go with

We have stayed at "Extended Stay" hotels three different times after just moving and looking for an apartment to rent. Only thing is, the longest time we were at any of them was 3 weeks! Quess that would be more like a "vacation" type stay than a "living" type stay. Never used them as a Reference.

Yes it can count if they are willing to give you a reference.
