Alarms should've gone off in your head from the get-go when you knew his parents lived on your street & obviously he wasn't allowed to live with them. Never again be this careless when allowing a stranger to live with you, you should've secretly asked his parents what's the deal. He's a loner for a reason, cause he's some kind of a nut. Consider yourself blessed that something a lot more severe didn't happen to you with this lunatic running amok in your home. Tell him good riddance.

sounds like mom and dad were going to pay somebody... anybody to get him out of their hair, there's your clue.
Thanks everyone ... it was just the motor on my refrigerator, the part was about $70 or $80 and the total bill was $142. The appliance guy also helped me get my dishwasher working better - the bottom pieces weren't in correctly. It wasn't broken, just needed tinkering.
Times are tough, I thought I was doing someone a favor and getting some $ help, and plus his parents live on my street. Lesson learned.
Just be grateful he's out of your home. He's sounds dangerous to me. If you knew he had "stalkers" prior to handing over a key, that should have been a red flag.
Yes, about his parents - he said his stepmother doesn't like him. But then he said his father was telling him he was "stressing him out" and they were upset about giving him money, etc. I just don't know what the parents are thinking now - I assume they know the story with him, but he makes it sound like my house is about to cave in. I mean, where were the clean pots and pans? And no working refrigerator! In this neighborhood - shocking!
Learn a lesson from this! Don't ever rent out space in your home unless you seriously check out references. Previous posters have already said that the fact that his parents live on the same street as you but wanted him out should have rung a few bells.
This economic downfall has many people struggling and resorting to renting out space in their private homes in order to meet their mortgages but that doesn't mean that you should be careless!
Pay heed to what's been so often touted on this forum whether you be a LL renting out a house or an apartment or, in your case, a room rental.
In an in-home rental situation, put together a comprehensive but all-encompassing month to month rental agreement specifying everything you can think of which might affect YOUR private space. Animals, hours, guests, kitchen liberties, use of communal areas - the list can be endless but the more you have in writing the better. Good luck in the future!
The reason he didn't live on your street......with his parents? Maybe they didn't want him either
My thoughts exactly. If he was so desperate for a place to live, why didn't his parents come to his aid?
When someone says repeatedly, "you don't like me." It makes me think twice about them. He seemed to be giving you reasons not to like him. Glad he's out of your home. I wouldn't worry about his opinion.
Mommie and daddy didnt want him at their house?
OMG thats a huge red flag ..
count your lucky stars you got rid of this nutter so easy ..
