Just because the headlights come on doesn't mean the battery is fully charged. If it ticks and clicks that battery is shot. Sometimes a jump won't even help if the battery is too far gone. Time for a new one. I guarantee it will start if you replace the battery.

You are very fortunate to find a mechanic who could diagnose and repair the problem accurately, they are many, many parts changers in the automotive world who replace parts until they cure the problem.

Hi I have and 2004 Oldsmobile Alero and my car won't start it's not my battery or starter or alternator so we are stuck and don't know what to do people say put it In the shop but that's expensive so don't know what to do any suggestions
