Has anyone ever had a late check or one not come at all? I'm waiting for my second check, and it should have been in the bank last Wednesday. Since it hasn't arrived yet, I'll have to call the SS office if it doesn't show up on Monday.

I though maybe when you first start getting it, they have to work the bugs out their system. I have a letter that says that it will be direct deposited on or around the second Wednesday of every month. The letter that they sent me says that my February money will be received around March 17.

I thought that I'd ask here, since I can't call until Monday.

Something is wrong. It should always arrive on Wed. If you have set up a login for yourself on the SS web site you might be able to find some info there.

I don't have a password, so I requested a temporary password be mailed to me. In the meantime, I'll have to call them Monday morning.

Mine was due on Thursday, March 17, and today is Saturday. If it's not in the bank Monday morning, they'll get telephone call from me. It's very hard for me to go to the office in person, because of my working hours.

Moved, you seem to have had a lot of trouble with applying for, waiting for and now getting your payments.
Could it be I wonder that because you originally applied online and that basically got hung up, then you finally went into the office, then you finally got your first payment, that now the online thing has caught up and so it is screwed up because of online vs office?

It makes no sense to me that people are getting checks showing up at days other than the Wednesday that the SS says benefits are paid on, other than the occasionaly holiday in which case the deposit should arrive before the holiday not after it.

I expect the banks are at fault on some of these things people are experiencing.

I use a credit union, and have never had any problems with direct deposits with them. All I can do is call them on Monday to see what the problem is. But I'm not going to call the 800#, I'm going to call the local office directly to see what they say.

I'm sure of it!

My SS check almost always shows up in my bank account near the last of the month. I have been extremely pleased by their service and their help from time to time.
