I think you both misread my post. I said that I would have gone to Orlando, but I'm not really able to travel so we'll be riding out the storm in our house in Miami.

MMoB - Glad to hear you are okay! And hoping you will stay safe as you ride out the hurricane in your 1925 home! Since your old home has survived through so many hurricanes already, likely it will be keeping you safe and sound. And prayers that Round #4 of chemo goes well and on schedule.

Went fishing at my favorite place on the planet Ridgway State Park this morning. Caught my limit of 4 rainbow trout. 74 degrees nice cool breeze. Came back here 93 smoke humid.
MMofB: This isn't any old hurricane and I truly wish you could get away somehow. TV coverage shows widespread devastation and I would not want to stay around there for love or money. I understand you are not well but wouldn't the paramedics assist you to get to a safer place? Or someone? Watching the TV this looks like a direct hit to Miami. We all are praying you will be back with us when it's over. Barb
Gorgeous photo. My son and his wife live in Grand Junction, and we'll be visiting in a couple of weeks. It's so pretty out west!
Maybe it will cool off in Junction by then. Been near 100 there with smoke every day. I had to go 60 miles and 7,000 feet to get away from this heat and smoke near Montrose.
I felt acceptance from the people. The mountains are awesome & there was an opening in Dee's complex that was handicapped accessible. Everything just fell into place.
Randomly going through posts for the first time in awhile and see Meo is moving! Wowsa! I had to do a search to see what was going on. So excited for you Meo! You are inspiration and hope. I am really struggling with this move thing.
So much to keep up on. I will have to re-read everyone's posts but for now let me say it was a tough drive & I was exhausted when I finally got here on Friday @ 2:00 pm.
I am thrilled with my new apartment. A washer & dryer in the apartment, a sweet patio outside my front door, an actual bathtub (the old apartment only had a shower). I've taken a real bath every night - that's how much I missed a bathtub.

I was amazed at the prices in the stores too. So much cheaper than Minnesota. And everyone I've met is so friendly.
So glad I took the plunge & moved here.
My apartment is also handicapped friendly & it is so easy for me to get around in it. Didn't even realize how much of a difference it would make until I got here.
Congratulations on escaping "Frostbite Falls"! AZ should be much better.
