Finally got to sleep at 2am with drunks racing around in loud trucks shooting skyrockets and firecrackers playing loud music. Had the neatest dream, in a recliner in front of the fireplace, log cabin, snowing outside, dogs curled up on their bed by the sofa. Hated to wake up it was such a nice dream.

Jim, is this an ongoing thing? I can't remember you ever writing about this. That is a tough thing to live with. I've contemplated moving for a long time but wonder what kind of neighbors I might end up with.
MMoB - Welcome home to you and your wife! I'm glad you have the precious memories from the trip. Get some rest.
Jim - I'm glad your are there with your listening ear for your family!
NYgal -- I am sorry for the loss of your family member. However you chose to work things out, it should be okay. And often times silence does not mean rejection of you. Sometimes, these days, employment and life's daily commitments keep us with our noses so close to the grindstone, so-to-speak, that a person you may think is ignoring you is not doing that at all, but is just trying to keep going, in a pressure-filled world. This happens for all ages and walks of life.
Hopefully all is forgiven and you all can just go forward.
I do live in the country but my home borders public lands, the only access road in or out is next to my place. There's about 9,000 or so acres back there, and no law enforcement. So every Friday and Saturday night the local kids race back there to party, every weekend and every single day in summer there's dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, those loud rock crawler things, people shooting. I have a huge Keep Out Private Property sign at the end of my road, it's been torn down more times I can count and shot at twice.
When I go for a morning walk back there I usually fill a trash bag full of beer bottles and stuff during the summer and on weekends.
I'm still looking, I've been looking every since I moved here. I did find a bedroom for rent, in an occupied condo. Only $1,000 a month, and of course, no pets.
Everything I've seen is between $1,500 and $3,000 a month and no pets.
Oh well. It was a nice dream I had last night, really was.
Welcome back MMOB. Glad you had a good time. 24 hours. Ouch! Soak up some sun. That should help.
Doing McMullans trivia next Tuesday with some friends. It's interesting that some are iffy about going, but once they've been they want to go back. Hooked on Trivia!

I haven't been in the area I intended on going to yesterday in 30+ Years. And as I am sure you are aware of, things do not stay the same. I had gotten directions from Google (mistake). The directions left out a couple of very important instructions. I did stop for directions about four times. Unfortunately I never made it to the funeral home. Street signs are not prominent, and I had a hard time even just finding them. So I did a round trip.
I did contact the family via FB PMs and two of them did answer me. I was told in one of the messages that it would have been nice to see me again.
Ah the Monday after time change. While the worker bees struggle to get up after "loosing an hours sleep" being retired lets me sleep in, sit here with hot coffee and ponder what to make for breakfast.

One of the reasons I love retirement. Don't have to gulp down some coffee while getting ready for work. It's definitely the good life IMO.
