You should be here! The next ten days it'll be low to mid 90s for highs and low to mid 60s for lows. It's supposed to only be 85 tomorrow with scattered T-storms, which means it may, or may not, rain on me. No doubt in the higher areas though. It is definitely getting cooler all the time.

If I had the money, I would be ANYWHERE but here.

BTDT and I know how frustrating it can be. The good thing was, though, that eventually I did get to change things. Hopefully your day will come too.

Our September electric bill was posted online today. Last year, this same period was $172 and was our highest utility bill here. This one is $110, using 500+ less kWh. This is from putting in new windows and a new AC unit, but we are also running a pool pump now that we weren’t last year. We’ll never recoup the cost of the windows and AC, but along with lower bills, the outside noise is reduced and the house temp is more comfortable and even throughout. Our house is total electric.

In comparison, we were paying $162 each month with budget billing on our older, less efficient and smaller NY house with natural gas, electric and no AC. That was with keeping the temp at 52 last year when we were gone in the winter. It was $185 a month when we lived there full-time over seven years ago. The FL utility company keeps offering budget billing here, but with $110 being our highest now and the lowest winter bill around $55, we prefer to pay the actual bill. It was nice to see we used less energy.

It actually rained all day yesterday with a high of 65f, this morning it was 49f. Very nice change from the 100 degrees every single day for the past three months.

That sure does sound like a pleasant change from your usual weather for the last few months. We will be up to 88 today and 86 tomorrow; then a 'cold front' moves through and drops us down a bit. Hopefully we will have seen the last of the mid-high 80s for the year. I am really ready to get moving on into winter and some snow.

We are in the 90’s with feel-likes at 100. We are visiting family in IN for a few days later next week and the prediction is for highs in the mid 60’s with lows in the mid 40’s along with rain there. I have never been a fan of colder, rainy autumn days. I’m hoping the forecast changes a bit.

I might actually get near freezing tonight! Gosh windows open and great sleeping weather if it stays quiet.

No severe weather to report.

But two young men were shot to death as they were closing Chili's Restaurant near me. They have the guy who did it. He would have killed two others but his gun jammed. They have now arrested 4 more in connection with this crime.

Reading about the walkers/joggers who were murdered (I think both were stabbed) while out exercising.

Maybe it's because I'm an old fogey now, but seems it is happening in places you would not expect it to.

Rite Aid in Aberdeen, MD lost 3 people today due to a shooter.

Glad I'm a homebody.

Mid 70's here at the beach for the next week. Water temps are in high 60's maybe getting to the low 70's. Not as warm for swimming as when we had 79 degree water last month.

Husband and I are off to New England in just over 3 weeks for a week long driving trip to look at the fall colors. We are looking forward to a fun week of exploring and hopefully some cooler weather as I expect when we leave SoCal it will still be quite warm.
