was thinking about all the discussions on relocating and weather. we moved to NC concerned about thunderstorms and have had limited bad ones. The once fairly mild Mid Atlantic has become a frequent storm zone. changing weather patterns make trying to anticipate future conditions probably impossible. was a fan of climate change back in the 70's. We spend to much time arguing about the causes and need to spend more of our national resources on the consequences. the changes are inevitable as that is the nature of the planet and we as seniors may well be some of the most vulnerable inhabitants. So much of the worlds food supply is at considerable with long them changes that are possible if not probable.

Default C-D Retirement Home

I think it would be fun for all of us on CD Retirement to apply en bloc to a senior hi-rise in some idyllic town close to the sea, kind of like the Marigold Hotel.

LauraC will be our tenant rep, with Lenora on our legal rights. StealthRabbit will facilitate community decision groups.

BDL and I will do doggie day care, while Umbria and LiveContent whip up delicious meals in chef hats.

Popcorn will tend our landscape, Sera and Oregonbirder will lead nature walks and birding, MotleyCrew and DancingEarth will head the art studios, Caladium our tour guide, CatsyGirl help us write memoirs.

Happy Texan will keep us reading, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Xz2y will keep us up for the news, LoveAutumn will let us play in the leaves (are we in a four-season climate?)

ClarkPark will be the head interior designer and encourage the Symphony and other fine things.

Redwolf will keep us in shape in the exercise room. Curmudgeon will do the garden veggies….and will insist on a building-wide nap time.

Anifani will keep up our community blog and Tallysmom supervise computer games. Escort will lead up the senior volunteers team.

Cattknap, Avalon?

Sam I Am will be the moderator…

Robyn and Mathjak our financial advisors….

We can go visit Yellowsnow and Madman on a bus tour of Vegas; Jenny will take us to the races.

Everyone else hosts round-robin Happy Hour…

MsAnnThrope will never be bored…

Wait, we need a nurse….

I got a chuckle out of your gentle and imaginative post. I was reading along, cringing to see in what context my name would appear, and hoping it would not appear at all, but you managed to find something positive to say (and I thank you for that) despite all the times you and I have locked horns in debate. Of course we have had our moments of agreement too, but those are in the minority! LOL

Huh! Me play chef with LC I cook average at best + LC & I would fight the entire time (not to mention he'd be absent most of the time chasing some babes in the laundry room). How about let LC be chef and I will help Curmudgeon tend/manage the gardens (and monitor the laundry room) - our senior co-op here in Edina has a large area for gardens that people go out and putz about in. I can see it now "Hazel!!! You're planting too many string beans!!!"; "NEG!! Get your dogs out of my garden!!!!"

That really would be fun - great idea!!! I bet they could do a movie about all the crazyness that would go on - "Marigold Hotal Part 2"

Someone is/was a nurse - who? Brightdoglover is an RN (I think).

WOW ! ! ! Thanks New England Girl for the perfect solution! When do we convene?

Umbria, do not know about working with LC, though enjoy cooking with someone when finished with an early morning walk.

Fortunately I am able to see the larger person in everyone, and you have inspired me and others to take a good look at volunteerism in retirement, which is one of your redeeming qualities.

LC will have to be the head chef, we have to give him that. Can't you just see him ordering everyone around in the kitchen and doing a precise inventory?

I did your chicken recipe and it was very good, so you have to stay with LC in the kitchen and we'll get a laundry room monitor (maybe Sam will oblige) to make sure no hanky panky goes on in there.
