Your temps are about the same as ours but we've had some overnight lows in the teens this week. Once the storm clouds come in it should 'warm up' a tad. They say snow down to the 2000 ft level on Thurs. and we are at 3500 ft..
My elevation is about 900 feet. That, and the proximity to the ocean, means our lowest lows (right where I live) are in the high 20's and we don't even get those every winter. Still, I'm glad I have an excellent natural gas forced air furnace even though it doesn't run that many days per year. (I heat to 62 degrees, with an electric space heater in the bathroom for showering.)
it was 11F this morning and we are up o a balmy 21F now. I still remember last winter (unbelievably frigid), and it's been wonderfully mild this year. I am loving this winter so far.
OMG I just realized Curmudgeon has posted! {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}
It was -7 this morning and rallied to 5. It's currently -2 now. I was telling my wife we should have stayed in San Diego.

Happy New Year and hugs back. It was 20-something degrees when I woke up and now it's a balmy 32°. No snow yet this year but perhaps some flurries in the next day or so. The closest we've come so far is very heavy frosts.
We moved here in September 2009. One reason was a desire to return to the land of four real seasons, all in one place. Mother Nature did not disappoint. Sometime during the night/early morning it snowed and we awoke to a white Christmas complete with a brilliant cardinal on the field of snow. For us it was a perfect, "Welcome home!"
Hope the coming year is all you want it to be, CCc girl, and for everyone else as well.
Happy New Year to everyone! The holidays have been busy and fun and I've found time to catch up on things. While the grandkids were napping, I made a batch of lemon curd from one of my Meyer lemons I picked off the tree this morning. Our weather is nice here, I won't say more.
DH has taken vacation this week and he can go back anytime now. He taught the grandkids the refrain from Jan & Dean's The Little Old Lady from Pasadena, which is "Go granny, go granny, go granny go!" It was funny at home but not so much when they started singing it in the uber crowded grocery store this morning! Okay, it was still funny, but I owe DH one.

It is 33 degrees here right now and it's snowing. Don't know when it started but I slept in this morning till 7:30 and it was snowing then but very little on the ground. Now there's between 3 and 4 inches. My satellite keeps going out so have to go out and sweep it off! Finally took my step stool out and left it there folded up against the house. lol It was only predicted that we'd get 3 inches so who knows? Just glad I'm off today and can just sit here and enjoy watching it come down. Tomorrow might be a different story!
Here in Philly, on New Year's Eve ... cold but clear skies ... 29 degrees F.
Tomorrow getting to the upper 30's near 40.
We have not seen any snow yet this year, except a very light flurry that did not stick.
That's my weather report.
