LMAO meo, I couldn't believe it when I heard the plow truck go by last night. Grrrrrrrrrr. It's going to be another late spring according to the weather man. Blech.
Can't decide if I should try and get at least the backyard mowed this afternoon or wait until Saturday, after inch of snow we're expected to get on Friday has melted.
Tim's horses do a pretty good job of keeping the pastures "mowed" and Zugor the goat follows them most of the time but lately he's being quite an escape artist, crossing the road to the neighbors yard. I'm on a fairly busy road and I'm afraid that one of these days he's going to meet up with a school bus full of kids and cause an accident, which I would be liable for. I have a long skinny triangular section of the pasture near the house that I did have fenced off for him and put him in there the other day but he found a way out so I have to figure out where it is and get it reinforced.
I did mow most of the back yard, from the back of the house to about 140 ft out; then started to use the walk behind unit which has a bag to "sweep" up most of the cuttings since they were long due to the fact that I didn't mow the last time or two that I should have back in the fall. I've filled and emptied the bag 3 times but had to stop and take a break, get a cold drink.
If I feel really ambitious I'll try and get the side yard between the driveway and the start of the pasture done today too.
One thing I can't understand is ... you know how when a new born babe arrives it sometimes looks like the mother and sometimes it looks like the father? How is it that sometimes the baby doesn't look like the mother nor the father, but resembles the milkman? Sometimes the little baby looks like the mailman! Weird isn't it???!!!
Daughter was spitting image of her father when a newborn until about 2 - now that she is almost 18 she looks like me at that age.
Zugor, I forgot about him/her! We loved our goats. Unfortunately, they didn't come out with the feed that has the ingredients to prevent the urinary failure that kills them so young until after they died.
One thing I do remember is an old farmer telling us never to leash them, they can hang themselves if unsupervised.
I used to bag the clippings for the ox when we had him. He would literally jump for joy at the sight of me carrying the catcher bag to his corral.
Yesterday 70 degrees F and mowing. Today 35 degrees and snowing.
I did collect another 6 bags of clipping and was going to go back out and do the side yard - honest - but during my break the old dog needed help getting up on to the bed and after helping him the recliner just sucked me down into it and would not release me.

Curious to see what spring and summer brings across the country. The Oklahoma tornado just awful. Hoping we don't get more of these tragic events.
