Friday was one of the rare enjoyable days here. Spent the day in the mountains with my older sister, was treated to a nice lunch in a patio café with a creek running right beside it, cool air nice cool breeze (cute waitress), then went to a friends massive mountain home at 9,000 feet to visit, and back here to relax, and watch a movie.
I actually slept well last night. This morning it's cloudy, cool and windy with light rain.
NYG: Do you have an HMO? You always need a referral letter from your PCP if you do. And usually they are only good for one year. The following year you have to request the referral from the PCP all over again in order to see the specialist.
Or do you have a Medigap plan? If so, then can't help. I don't think you ever need a referral for those plans but they are more expensive.

Glad to see that you are getting a bit of a break from the lousy weather!

Sorry we (Holly and me) haven't helped you.
My insurance is PPO. This year I have Today's Options, which for the most part has been great.
Previously I had United Health, also a PPO. With this one, never needed a referral letter. If I had to go to out of network with this plan, I would have just paid the higher copay. No letter necessary.
Does this make it clearer?
Insurances are different from state to state and also different within same state but different counties. Hard to understand how they figure it out. I think some of the time by number of participants in a county.
Gosh it was 48 degrees this morning and a quiet night. Was actually able to sleep with the windows open. Two mile sunrise walk, dog stopped sniffed and growled, heard Coyotes yelping so decided to head back home.
Wow! Send a nice 48 degree morning down here please, Jim. I think we will have to wait until November or December for that weather. But we are halfway + through August, so not too much longer.
