AARP is like JD Power. Anybody anywhere with enough money can buy them. Lucky for them there are enough dumb people who managed to get old to keep AARP in business.

I am a member but I won't be renewing next year. There really isn't anything much beyond their Bulletin publication that I fiind of value. Their magazine is too slick with beautiful, wealthy charaters. I may as well buy People Magazine for that.

Their advice for health, wealth and jobs are just not realistic. And their politics are confusing.

Actually, Hyundai has manufacturing in Ulsan, South Korea and, the US.
No Hyundai car manufacturing in North Korea... And, non union? That's worth several pages for another thread.

Yeah. I remember my Marketing professor mentioning that about JD Power.

Hyundai has a plant at KAESONG in NORTH KOREA too. You can watch the trains head north with parts at Munsan and into the DMZ. Kaesong is just across the border over the hill. You can see it from the south if you go west of Munsan where the DMZ is just the Han River.

It is even part of the last two trade pacts that the South could send thosse cars here as built in the south. The Korean Auto Workers have been in the streets at Ulsan protesting this shipping jobs to the north. They , in fact make more than Hyundai pays its scab workers here.
Third World here we come

No, but it does bother me that after AARP touted Obamacare, it asked for and received a waiver from it.

Yes. We should have a national health care system, a Medicare for everyone.

Instead we have this system that is again benefiting big business. The stock of insurance companies hit the roof when this thing was passed, and they are the very ones who are exacerbating the problem in the first place. We should be eliminating the middle man.

Same here when our membership expires we will not renew.

Have you noticed the magazine is loaded with loose card advertisements.

AARP receives big commissions from all the insurance companies they represent just like any insurance agency.

The AARP advocated for Obamacare to include an attack on Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare Advantage plans is Medigap policies’ biggest competitor. The AARP Medigap coverage did receive an exemption from Obamacare.
