How would you like to continuously travel around the world on a floating city of 50,000 people with enough room for 30,000 vistors?

"It would have enough room for 50,000 permanent residents within its 25 storeys and boasts schools, hospitals, art galleries, shops, parks, an aquarium and a casino. It would even have its own airport on the roof, with a runway serving small private and commercial aircraft carrying up to 40 passengers each. Visitors and residents would be able to leave the ship, either by plane or by boat thanks to a dock at the rear, concept pictured, to visit cities and countries where the ship will also pick up supplies as and when needed."

Unfortunately, it hasn't been built yet...and, I'm assuming it doesn't travel by Somalia.

There are photos, a map of the route, a video and there is more information here:

No thanks. I'd miss driving on isolated roads, shoveling and playing in the snow, gardening, and worst yet. No place to go walkies with my dogs. I might like it if I'm in my 80's but not now.

Not built yet, huh? Might have been the world-wide recession that slowed it down. I remember reading about Freedom at least 5 years ago.

Considering the size I think you'd have places to take walkies.

I've heard of retired people who actually live aboard cruise ships and perpetually 'travel the world.' However, it seems like these stories are more anecdotal than fact-based. As for me, it hasn't taken that long to get "cruised-out"; perhaps 6 cruises in 3-4 years - mostly 1-2 weeks with the longest about a month.

It looks like a floating parking garage. No thanks.

Too close to the old Eskimos and ice floes story for me . . . .

There was a woman on our first cruise on that lived on the ship. She had to get off and stay in a hotel for a week because the entire ship had been booked by a gay group for the cruise after ours.

Top heavy and looks like it would capsize in a strong blow. I'll pass!

Well let's see.....too large to enter any ports. Sure would be fun riding out a typhoon on that thing.

What could possibly go wrong?
