This is too exciting!!! Everything I ever dreamed of but just didn't think it could happen. We'd all have to get certified or whatever it takes to take people out on the ocean. Serve wonderful lunches. Common, ladies - great way to meet more people!!

Whoo-hoo! A group of fellow adventurers! I have always pondered the thought that, since there are SO MANY single, "senior type" women out there, that there are not more organized places and activities and adventrures for them to partake of together. I know there are singles cruises and all, but those are for young folks looking to hook up, and at this point in my life I am not looking for that. Just friends to cavort and enjoy life with, share ideas, maybe travel. Maybe we should create some sort of single female retirees extravaganza!

Oh, the ocean cruise ship idea is a great fantasy ...... but I'm too old to actively participate

I DO like MN2CO's idea of living on the Florida coast in a quaint fishing village. HMMmmmmmmmm Tarpon Springs comes to mind; I visited there in around 1990 but I'm sure it changed since then!

My sights are set for somewhere on either coast of Florida but I don't know when - maybe within the next couple of years. Then again, I keep flip-floppin' back & forth between wanting to live in FL or s/CA

I'll trade ya! I would love to leave Florida. I've been here for 35 years and am tired of heat, humidity, and hurricanes!

LOL plantlover !! That's EXACTLY what I said when I moved to the PNW after living in Miami-Dade-County for 30+ years I was living there when Hurricane Andrew came to visit on 8/23/92..... so I can say "been there- done that".

However, tonight we are expecting our first FREEZE of the year and 30 degree weather hurts ! My first year out here I didn't mind the cold. This will be my 5th year in Oregon and I miss the warm Florida winters.

Good Grief! Some people are never satisfied

The best would be to have a home in Florida for the winter and a home somewhere cooler for the rest of the year!

Knock knock......who's there? The girl from MINNESOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, we haven't had a freeze yet. Tomorrow it's suppose to be 75, BUT, come visit in Jan-Feb and then you'll really enjoy where you live. Actually, I compare to anywhere else in the country where the weather is bad for a couple of months. Nice time to build a fire and snuggle up with a book, "kids" (cats and/or dogs) or someone special.
Coney..., the ocean cruise ship fantasy probably is just a fantasy - those "boats" costs lots of $$. Fun to dream, though.
Nancy - we are counting on you to keep us all "in line"!! And you thought you were done! I do love the idea though - obviously couldn't afford a big ship but perhaps something else smaller. Where do we all live? Bunk beds at Wisteria's!!

Better bring a wheelbarrow full of cash to pay for that hurricane insurance and property tax. FL isn't nearly as inexpensive as it used to be.
