Some of the activities taking place at Englewood’s senior citizen housing complex were a long way from canasta, police said.

A man, 75, and a woman, 66, suspected of using cocaine and running a prostitution ring out of their apartments at the Vincente K. Tibbs Senior Citizen Building have been arrested after residents complained about vagrants, drunks and addicts invading their building, authorities said.

Sorry but I fail to see a point to this. It's an unfortunate, isolated story and nothing more Stuff happens. Seniors and senior housing are/is not immune.

My friend's father was in a retirement home. There was a "laundry gal" that also did massages. She would do a "happy ending" massage for a few extra dollars. All were happy.

Not at all surprising to me. My mom and brother were in senior housing in North Jersey that had a minimum income level to qualify for. There building and tenants were nice. Across the street was a subsidized senior housing with a maximum income level and the police were ther all the time. Relatives of the residents along with some residents used the building as a cover for criminal activity including drugs and perhaps prostitition

That's really sad and reminds me of something I had forgotten. A few blocks from where we last lived there was a high-rise, large, subsidized senior housing facility and as you described. If was rife with drug deals, police visits and more. It just doesn't get much worse than that.

Wait a minute. Yes it does. Around the corner from us was this lovely Victorian house:

Dorothea Puente, Killing for Profit

But these are still relatively isolated incidents, I hope!

If the military can pimp soldiers out why not have some action with seniors?

Why should seniors be denied the finer things of life?
