learned to drive in an automatic. every car i've owned since then has been stick, i refuse to purchase an automatic. i'd love for someone to create a websight were it says something like "i want to purchase a new car, with a manual transmission. what makers offer this?" trying to scour each webpage for the info can be a bit tedious.

Love my manual Jeep! I might get a pickup in a few years suitable for towing a travel trailer. I guess it's OK to tow with a vehicle that has a manual transmission, right? I mean, the 10 tons do it every day.
Funny thing is, The Price is Right often features cars with manual transmissions. Usually the prices are a couple thousand dollars less than the car usually costs. I think that is why they throw them into the mix, to make it more difficult. To price, that is. I wonder how many people win one of theses manual transmission vehicles and have to sell them because they can't drive them.

Probably depends on what transmission, not just whether auto or manual.
I have towed for many years with stick shift vehicles, but the trailer and load are light. Do your research carefully for towing heavy stuff.
I can drive a stick shift if I have to, but prefer auto for less work on my life. A good friend who is now about 72 and drove a stick shift for MANY yrs believes her hip issues (right side) are due to driving a stick shift for so much of her life. She has been driving an automatic for about 10 yrs now and this is much easier on her pained hip. Hip pain, food for thought???
Here in So. America, it's nothing BUT stick shifts. All the taxis, buses, everything. I don't get it. I asked this question in automotive awhile back. I don't plan to drive here, but it's good to know I can, since I learned on a stick. I'm a smoother shifter than hubs, too, LOL.
I switched from Stick to Automatic when my commute went from 90% highway @ hi-way speeds, to more traffic on it with more stop and go on the Interstates.
Doing stick was just annoying, and was doing so much shifting.
The first stick shift I ever drove ( I was 13) was my dad's 630 hp sand rail. Before I got my DL
He took me to this street that was just about straight up, and had me start and stop from half way up the hill. Once I could start out without jerking or stalling he was satisfied that I could drive a stick on the street. He also taught me how to ride dirt bikes and fly airplanes.
I never understood the whole stick vs auto thing. I get in my car and ride. The transmission doesn't matter.
