I agree on the job statement however, my IRA took a hit of about 1/3 or its value. Since then it has recovered completely and actually is gaining.

The biggest hit most are taking is in the value of their homes.

I think those coming directly after us will be affected. Those down the road a few years will be fine.

I almost lost my house, I did loose all of my IRA, during the 80's recession.
