Now this is worth a movie script. I love the 'Capt Kirk and the Enterprise....'

I was never good at reading dumps. I would always find a helpful "oddstray" who took pity on me , then I found some shortcuts and became good at using intuition.
Ah, those were the days.

I was lucky and got to do some really interesting projects in my professional IT life, but I still fondly remember a summer job of teaching in a learn to swim campaign in the late 60s. A highlight even 40+ years later was helping 4 year old learn to swim who was so afraid of water that her mother had nightly bath time dramas

The best job for me was by far, the privilege and the honor I had of serving this great country for 20+ years in the US Army. I met some of the most amazing people from all walks of life, who, for the most part only wanted to do the best that they could do. There were great times, there were bad times, but I look back on all of them with fondness.

You really learn about the human spirit, perseverance and what you are truly made of when you’re placed in dangers way. There is a special bond between you and the people that you experience these things with that never goes away. You might not see these guys and gals for 25+ years, but if and when you do, it’s as if it was just yesterday and you pick up as if you never left off.
