Is there any place where your money could grow faster than in Fidelity? My mom says she loses a lot of money in Fidelity. Is Vanguard or any other company better?
The specific brokerage has practically nothing to do with how fast your money grows.
Fidelity and Schwab are the "best" imho, with Vanguard "good for what it is" (i.e., a great place to buy and hold Vanguard's own funds). I highly recommend "one from Column A and one from column B".
As mentioned above: It has been a very bad year. Our net worth has declined about 4% over the past year (and declined almost 6% from its high in May). If your mother has done better than that, tell her to consider herself lucky.
It is the individual fund selections within the company that are as important as fees etc. Yes Vanguard, Fido and Schwab etc can have lower fees and good funds so have a go at them.

How old is your mother and what kinds of investments does she have? Is she managing things herself - or working with a Fidelity "adviser"? Her question betrays a total lack of understanding in terms of how things work in the financial markets and handling one's investments. Robyn
It isn't only a DIY place. Fidelity also offers a lot of in-house mutual funds. Some of which may not be "best in class" or close to it. In addition - Fidelity often offers brokered CDs with yields that are 10-20 bp less than some offered in other brokerage firms. Etc. So it's really impossible to know what's going on - or to give suggestions - without having more information. Robyn
you really need to know the funds you will buy . they have some funds that are great and some lousy ones and everything in between .
one thing about fidelity is not all managers can buy whatever they like .
fidelity maintains approved lists of stocks and some fund managers can only buy the approved list .
others can do as they see fit .
i use a independent fidelity newsletter with pretty good success and they stay on top of the funds and who can do what .
otherwise you can buy a bunch of different funds and have duplicate holdings all over .
