This question comes up in surveys of older and retired people frequently. Which have been the best years of your life so far? Now that you've presumably acquired a pretty good memory bank to ponder such things, how would you respond?

Here's an article that, based on a UnitedHealthcare survey, found most respondents to say the 30s was it for most of them. We won't count the ones that said "We don't know."

The ones now and yet to come. It gets better and better. 30's? Pffffft. Not much has changed except I'm a tad smarter.

I've always said that my 30s were pretty great and if I could choose one age to be for eternity it would be 35. I probably accomplished more in my 30s than before or since. LOTS of energy, learning new things, working, going to college and raising four kids. Also, single for some of those years so had a pretty active social life as well. Here I am, nearly 40 years later, doing pretty well and think that NOW is probably "the best" time...but then I always think that. Except that I've become "old, tired and lazy".

Smile My own opinion

Yes, my 30's and part of my 40's were the best. Just more fun.

I had my own business with a great staff, my children were young and I felt needed. Wish I could go back and do it again.

It was also before we lost any of our parents so we've been dealing with that for 14 years.

At 65, I'm smarter and in way better physical condition than I was in my 40s and 50s. Spiritually I'm more grounded than at any earlier time in my life.

The level of life stressors has remained pretty constant throughout my adult life, altho the content changes from one decade to another. What's different these days is that I'm able to let things roll off my back.

I really liked mid to late 30s - but I vowed to have fun in my fifties and I'm doing that - even some new things!

But for the physical issues, these are the best years of our lives.
