In this crazy, fast paced world, does anyone remember dance cards? (crying, retired)

I'm 68 and, although not all the dances I attended as a teen used dance cards, enough did so that I have lovely memories of them.
We had them for our Junior Prom, 1963. The theme was "Caribbean Cruise," and I remember I had never heard of the Caribbean. But I still remember the "dance card," which was actually a little booklet that we wore on our wrist. The cover had palm trees. By Senior Prom, if I remember correctly, they were passe.
I know what they are.
Mark of a slower paced gentler time.
A guy would sign your card for a specific dance.
Teens today wouldn't have a clue.
Part of the change is that we no longer have specific dances anymore. I love looking at these things at the link someone posted, where it lists out which dance they're going to play in which order, i.e. "Two-step", "Foxtrot", etc. Some record albums are like this, too (especially Latin music) where it tells you the dance (i.e. the rhythm) for each song on the record jacket (or CD booklet). The whole idea of having specific dances that go with specific songs has been lost for basically my entire life.

I attended several dances that used dance cards, just as you described, in 1862 and 1963. I wish I'd thought to keep those little booklets with the ribbon that tied around my wrist. What lovely memories of a gentler time.

1862...yeah, that's when I thought they were around after seeing them mentioned in books.
Just out of curiousity...do you still drive?
