I'm a retired cop. Had a dream about being promoted to Lt. What I know about command rank cops, I quickly woke up. At least I no longer have dreams of being in shootouts.
Nope. But I do still have "college" dreams - you know the ones I mean, the ones where its the end of the quarter and you suddenly realize you have a final in a couple of hours which you forgot you had signed up for and had never attended any classes .... EEEEEEEEE!
I've had pretty much that same dream. All of a sudden I remembered that I had signed up for a course a few months ago, but I hadn't gone to any of the classes and wasn't sure if I had missed some of the tests. I was fretting because it was past the withdrawal date, and I was afraid an F would bring my GPA below a 3.0.
Dreams? I wish I could remember my dreams - any of them. Since my Vietnam days, I have been unable to remember any nighttime dreams once I awaken. I know I dream. They are just lost when I regain consciousness.
Oh my! Or maybe I should say "Wow!" For the first time in over 48 years, I actually remember a sleeping dream after I woke up. About work. It's an inconsequential dream about cannibalizing the old computers of their 3.5" floppy drives when we upgraded to new machines, which we did every few years. What a silly thing to remember.
I realize that this is an old, zombie thread. But, being able to remember a dream is something that hasn't happened in a long time, for me at least.
Not too many dreams about being at work - but last night we had two friends who we knew through out old business (wood stove retailing - these friends worked at Vermont Castings in executive positions)....and after dinner and a couple hours of discussion we came to this particular conclusion....
"now that we know all the mistakes people make and how to do things really right, it's a shame we are too old to want to go back into business, because we could rule the (business) world"...
There is a lot of truth to that. Only after many experiences can you know how much of the world is FOS.
Just had my first (remembered) work dream. It was very negative, about safety procedures not observed, arguments with coworkers, acutely ill patients, and worst, it took place in real time, or seemed to, as I was watching the clock in my dream!
Fortunately, my little white dog chooses the same time every morning to claw at me for food and that is when I am most likely to remember a dream.
I still have bad dreams about waitressing. Haven't waitressed since 1980.
