My weekly newspaper is faster and more dependable than my internet service (in rural America, 16 miles away from a 'metropolis' of nearly 1 million people, but nothing better than std dial-up for ISP is available). Rural votes don't count anyway (no longer a majority), so why bother providing internet service.

I drive to town to balance my checkbook online.

I live in Texas (unfortunately) but I dearly miss NY/NJ and the New York Times. I can have the Sunday paper delivered to my doorstep cheaper than if I go and buy it. It is only available in a few places. This is a 90 day special and if they don't run the special, I cancel.

Nothing beats the NYT on a Sunday morning!!

I wish we could get a daily paper but we can only get a Sunday paper delivered at our door. This is a downside to living rurally. I miss having a paper to read while having my morning coffee and a daily crossword puzzle to work. There is a lot to be said for the tactile properties of newspapers and books.

This is the paper. Check out a copy online. You can subscribe and have it delivered but it's also free if you want to just pick up a copy from news boxes all over the city.
