I plan to work beyond full retirement age. However, I plan to file and suspend SS so that my wife can get spousal benefits at age 66.
Question: I know that if I wait until age 70 to receive SS benefits I'll maximize the monthly payout. However, suppose I change my mind and at age 68 I decide I want to start receiving my SS.
I know that one option is to receive a lump sum payout of the total of the suspended benefits, however, is it possible instead to start receiving benefits that are 16% more per month than they would have been at age 66?
