I remember 30+ years ago walking out to the theater lobby to take a break from the stuff on the screen.
I'd much rather watch a rerun of The Shawshank Redemption.

You realize people saw Star Wars 30+ years ago, right?
In 1977, when the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, came out and I seen it...........I was hooked! Today, wife and I, in our mid 60's have a Vader (me) and Stormtrooper (her) Halloween costumes and love it when Halloween comes around. I've got some Star Wars stuff, like figurines, but we sure don't go overboard in buying things.
Met a guy, 45 yrs old, at a local Walmart Thursday midnight The Force Awakens event and he was/is definitely a BIG spender when it comes to Star Wars stuff. He told us that he has sold about half of his stuff, but still has quite a bit........including a 6 foot Millennium Falcon hanging from ceiling of a spare bedroom. He also has all the Lightsabers and Blasters that were in each of the six movies. Just out of curiosity, I ask him what he does for a job, he said "I'm a Shipping Broker". Oh yea, that's career has a nice size income.
We have our tickets for the new movie and are looking very forward to seeing it.
Have a window sticker on the back window of our Durango that says......"May The Force Be With You!"
I stood in line in 1977 in Los Angeles to see the original Star Wars, but I was in my 20's. Today nearest theater is 60 miles away and I'm not about to drive that far on snow packed roads to see a movie. When it comes out on BluRay, I'll rent it and watch it then in my home theater.
Have never seen even one Star Wars movie and I don't plan to start now. Although, it does help my Disney stock...
I think I've only seen the original, back when it first came out. I'll wait until they are all in the $5 bin at WallyWorld, then I'll get them all and see the rest.

My dad didn't much care for it either. I'm 48 and I can't wait to see it, since I practically grew up with it.
