Why would you want another forum just for retirement health related issues? Isnt the Health Forum enough?

Because some medical conditions are experienced predominantly by older people. I think medical conditions experienced mainly by older people should be in a sub-forum under Retirement or preferably left in the Retirement Forum so older people will notice them and post.

I basically visit three forums here: retirement, AZ/Phoenix and WA/Seattle. I prefer having the Costco hearing aids, hip/knee replacements and cataract type threads on the Retirement forum. I generally skip over titles that don't interest me.

Not that anyone asked me -- lol -- but I'd like to see the threads written by someone in their 30s wanting advice about a way-off-in-the-future retirement placed in one of the financial forums.

I think health issues -- are -- uh, health issues regardless of age -- and belong in the health thread.
What are we going to have now TWO thread on gout, to TWO thread on knee replacement. Those issues are NOT age or retirement related.
So the person who expected to see those issues in HEALTH where they belong, won't know they're under retirement, and may be scratching their head about -- why is a HEALTH topic under retirement.

Just like there are sticky notes, and links at the topic about other issues.
Why not have a sticky saying health issues should go in the health forum -- put a "senior" health issue forum THERE. Since, if anything, those health issues are more AGE Related, and not RETIREMENT related at all

True, but this is not the Older People forum.

It is for retirement issues. And people can be retired in their 40s, without the health issues of people in their 70s.
I can see why the mods move the threads as they do.

The number of people who retire in their 40's is minuscule.

Health issues are young and old issues. I always mention my age and I spend MOST of my time in the Health area, main reason I joined CD. I happened to check into retirement area and found a whole bunch of posts on hip replacements which I would have been on a long time ago. I deal with that MESS and got hardly any comments on the regular health areas when I sought others' experiences.

Young and Old end up with these replacements.

Closed. Although I tend to agree about retiree health issues staying in Retirement and 30 year olds posting about finances can post in Economics. But we've asked before and it's not going to change. The rules are somewhat fuzzy, I do agree.

In the future, if you have a question, send a message to a moderator or ask in the public forum where people ask questions but do not start a thread about it on here. Thank you.
