I'm 61. And as functional (or dysfunctional for certain things, I'm no auto mechanic or electrician for instance) that I have ever been. Only I stopped jogging 7 years ago because of a hip operation, I walk fast instead. I gave up bodybuilding , do calisthenics and pilates instead. But I don't smoke (never had, save a few joints with friends as any teen ager back in the early seventies) and drink only from time to time high quality Pinot or Chardonnay. So I guess that explain a lot my good health, although I'm slightly overweight. Of course I mow my (small) lawn myself .

From the subject, before I saw the caveat, I had a short answer:

SCREW UP!

but then I thought, well, I don't pay for that...

.however thinking on it, screwing up later in life is something I have paid others to either spearhead the process or at least assist. Yup, that's what I do now that I could always do but now I pay dearly and usually figure it out faster.

Pick up dog poop. I can't believe it took me so long to realize I could PAY someone to do it.

Well, I long for a house cleaner every other week, but we would rather spend our money other ways.

We do have arduous planting and landscaping tasks done by a guy though. We have a handyman for stuff that requires outdoor ladders. And he can repair our fence when needed. We have always done interior painting, but when we moved into our present house we had the painting done before our furniture arrived.

We have all car maintenance done at the dealer. That's DH's policy.

We don't do carpet cleaning any more, either. Our windows are too hard for us to clean, so we have them cleaned by pros, once in the spring.

We also eat out more than ever.

I do everything I always did except climb my huge pine trees with my sawz-all slung over my back. Since my triple spinal fusion, it's really difficult to get into that scrunch position with any power, to hoist myself up. So now, sadly, I have to hire tree service. Other than that, I dance, ride horses, do all my work on my 2 acres, clean my 4,000 sq ft house and guest cottage, maintain my pool, etc, etc. I'm nearing 66 yrs old now.
