I just bought 4 for other members of my family - ages 11 to 49.
My 74 year old father really loves his now. It has re-invigorated his love of music. For Xmas, I am buying him the system to control some of his lights by voice using the dots. This is really helpful for him because of his paralysis.
We also started using the Alexa Skill "Call my Buddy". If he falls/has an emergency and can't reach a phone, he can yell out to the Dot "Call my Buddy...." and the Dot will send me a phone call/text message/email telling me my father needs help and to check on him right away.
I also created a Google calendar for him that has all of his appointments, outings etc.. on it. So every morning he can say "Alexa, what's on my calendar today?", and she gives him his schedule.
