Wow, woke up from a beautiful dream. Hope it's the beginning of the book. holding it in until the starting point. Much better idea than my previous thought.
Have you ever had a dream that you not only remembered but stayed with you? It's one of those.
Everyone ready? Two days to kick off. If I'm awake at midnight on Halloween (day after tomorrow...hint, hint) I'll begin then.
Crept up fast, didn't it?
If we actually have more than a few people jumping in, I think I'll start a new thread just to get rid of the extraneous comments here. *ahem* With a link to this one if a newbie wants to read about the beginnings of this endeavor. This way we'll have a thread that's just about how things are going, if we made the word count for the day, supportive comments, etc. (Plus, the title of this thread is bugging me...oh-so-dramatic..."WE, of all people".....oy vey)
Lastly, really, I hope no one feels bad it they changed their minds, or if it's too much or they just don't want to do it. If you don't want to write, then don't! I don't want to skydive, so I don't.
Even if a person doesn't fulfill the obligation, still & all, writing is a good outlet. I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't finish. I'm just going to do the best I can.
Yep. But I'm thinking that if it's just you and me, a thread here would be inappropriate. Guess I'd just hop over the nanowrimo site to post...if at all.
Sooooo...is anyone else going for it? I know some said they would a month ago, but now it's here and a tallying would help. Who is still with us?
I'm in. The hardest part for me is going to be keeping to x # of words per day.
The job I retired from had so many deadlines, the type where you either got it done or the event couldn't happen. I loved the job but was very happy to have that stress out of my life. So we'll see how I do dealing with timelines again.
Well, hopefully this will be less stressful, since it's quantity over quality and no one but you will assess it. Basically, it's a first draft on a fly. 6.67 double spaced pages a day (250 words to 1" margin page, for 1667 words total a day).
The hardest part, I think, will be to silence the critic in ourselves.
