OMG yes, plus the energy level isn't the same. No, neither or us nap in the afternoon and we both have activities, including volunteer work we are involved in, but my spend more time on my ass than doing anything else. I don't always even get the bed made in the morning and that would never have been me even 10 years ago.
I stopped sleeping under the bed covers years ago. I just keep a season appropriate blanket on the bed and cover myself with that if needed. A few tugs on the comforter, fluff the pillows and all is well.
Same here. I haven't retired yet, but I'm on the lazy side, and I'll be even lazier after retirement. You can't bring work ethic with you to the grave.
I don't understand "workaholics." My idea of having a good time is taking a leisurely, relaxing vacation, driving around the U.S. or exploring countries abroad without being in a time crunch. The Europeans have it right with their 4-6 weeks mandatory annual vacation.
Dealing with deadlines, stress, pushy bosses, and nasty coworkers is not something I could develop an addiction to.
Thanks for asking. "My time" is rather out of my control, lol! Megacorp has published intentions to swing to 80% offshore employees. My druthers would be to stick around long enough to pay off my revolving debt. However, the bogey is the bogey - and it is entirely out of my control.
Not a unique story these days, I'm afraid. However, the revolving debt is not a showstopper. E.g., if I get the ol' tap on the shoulder, I'm not going to have a lot of angst. Not going to look for another job. I'm gonna be LA-ZEE, Bay-bee!!
I really don't want to do much of anything -- other than visit and travel with friends.
Sometimes we'll go window shopping or out to eat. MAYbe a festival, bowling or whatever. Mostly I'm good with just sitting around and shooting the breeze. A life a leisure works for me.
I just have to keep trading my time for money for a few more years, to get to Medicare.
But mentally, I'm already done......single, no kids, my time is my own (other than now going back to work after the 7 months off I've had after getting a severance), no real demands, good health...I'm good.
