My grandchildren are my pride and joy. Sadly though, I am third fiddle to the maternal mothers side of the family. My son has chosen to keep his distance and that has brought silent sorrow. I encourage visits or events out... Only to be cast to the side. I've remained a 'in title only' for family functions.. Birthdays and holidays... But it has made my 'aware' driven grand daughter to question why Mimi can't come along... I'm sure they have quite the reasonings... Just wish they'd be more direct in speech .. Their actions are less welcoming.
