Does anyone here subscribe to Motley Fool, "Rule your Retirement"? Do you think the $149/year is a worthwhile investment? Thinking of joining, at least for one year.

Waste of money, IMHO. Seems mostly a shallow scam to pay for their regurgitated advice based on getting you invest in their preferred funds. I followed their supposed superior funds for a few years and they were nothing special, gained or lost worse than most top Vanguard or Fido funds.

maybe search the investing subforum ---in my early investing days I'd listen to their radio show and enjoy their talk - but haven't looked into this offering.

I used to subscribe, but as Perryinva pointed out, its main purpose is to spam you and push you to buy more of their products. If you want an interesting investing forum try https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/index.php.

If you feel like you want to fling money at breathless investment newsletter hype, try https://www.stockgumshoe.com/ for free instead. If you really like them, you can pay a premium membership for extra content. That currently runs around $60 annually.

I have done well with several of their picks, starting with Netflix when it was mail CDs. Zillow, Solidworks, and Gorilla glas were good for me.

Ditto on Netflix. Paid for my daughter's graduate school years. After four years at Berkeley, she was out of money.

Too much of a constant stream of pushing into my Inbox.

There's a few grains of advice and infor. there but it's also available everywhere else.

I always felt the Motley Fool was more of a stock pushing site than a real evaluation of a company. The Dow theory letters is the best market advise you will ever read. Richard Russell's insights go back over 50 years and his advise has always been close to, or spot on. Their Primary trade index is excellent too. They don't look at a single company, index or trend. They look at the big picture. The best way I can describe it is that they look at everything in a sphere that exists in the past, present and future sense. That may only make sense to you after you read the letters and judge for yourself. But, that's how I see it.
