During the course of your life, how old were you when you felt most unhappy and discontented with your life?

Right now. Though I am loving retirement, the deteriorating physical issues are so discouraging. Age 62.

I was in my late 20s. Had everything that should have made most people happy and content. However, I was not content with being a passenger nor the driver of a bus, in a manner of speaking. Fortunately, I was able to have the opportunity to purchased my own bus and one thing lead to another. This in itself had/has its own set of issues, but I have enjoyed all of the challenges.

I am basically an optimist, even when faced with tough times. But my teenage years weren't as much fun due to family issues (alcoholism, abuse).

I have learned not to look backwards, keep plugging away. Stay busy both mentally and physically.

Only in retrospect do I consider my early 20s problematic, since I might have made better decisions careerwise. However, overall not complaining!

I’ve never really been discontented with my life. The most unhappy I have been was in my mid 50’s while helping to take care of my dying father. But that was understandable sadness. Very happy right now. Retirement is fun.

My late 40's choice was due to a disastrous relationship that ended & because of this becoming unemployed/underemployed for about 4+ years where I lost everything & started my life over again with nothing in a new city at age 45. Thank God I didn't develop a health problem then or I would be sunk today.

For the past 5 years or so...
Financial, health, social, and emotional issues...And very little I can comfortably or physically do at the moment to rectify some of those issues.
I'm 61 and frankly I don't think I wanna see the rest of my life if it keeps going in the path is going now...and no...I'm not really suicidal(yet)

A lot of my life has been unhappy, can't pinpoint it to a 5-year slot.

But I can happily say that at 75 I am the happiest I have ever been. Peace, serenity, self-knowledge, all are contributing factors. The fact I do not depend on another person to make me happy is significant, I think.

I would have to say 15-20 because I was trapped at home with two abusive alcoholic parents. Actually there should have been a 10-20 range. I made me escape before my 20th birthday. Most of my life has been happy and I found moments of happiness that I had created for myself even living in that hell. I guess I'm just a happy person by nature.
